Cell Tower on My Property
If you have been approached by a company to add a cell tower or wireless lease to your property, contact us right away. These opportunities should be handled quickly to prevent the wireless carrier from literally going right next door!
A question we are asked frequently: “How do I get a cell tower lease on my property?”
Many property owners would like to have cell tower lease income. Rooftop cell tower leases typically offer income from a location that is not otherwise lease-able, and cell towers (if handled right) can be placed in areas that do not disturb the rest of the property.
In reality, in order for your property to be selected for a cell tower lease, it must meet very specific requirements. The wireless carriers are now building sites where their engineers tell them they need profitable coverage. This requires several factors, including a current need for a new site (as determined by the network engineers), a specific “search ring” for the need, and a property that provides good coverage with few restrictions.
Most wireless companies have sites where you can submit your property to them, however there is only a small chance that you will be contacted to enter into a cell tower lease. The success rate for properties that currently have no cell tower is less than 1%.
